Meemaw and Pops Came to Visit

What We Have Been Up To...

We have sort of settled into a routine lately. Rylan eats every 3 hours so we nap in between feedings, wash clothes, and take pictures of him. This week was our first appointment with our pediatrician.

It went great! She was happy with Rylan's weight gain and his progress so far.



Last day in NICU and finally home

Jill, Caitlyn and Madilyn came to visit last week during spring break. The kids had great fun crawling on Jordon. Caitlyn helped take care of Abby. They went to McLean with Grammy for a few days and then Grammy came back when Rylan got to come home.

Even though the weather was not great, Caitlyn helped Jordon take Abby on a walk. They also took her to the park the next day but I did not go so no pictures.

We had to go "room in" at the hospital the night before Rylan was discharged.

Our first bath at home

Papa came down this weekend.

Aunt Jill came back through to visit after their visit in McLean. The cousins did not come in and meet Rylan yet; we just let them look through the doorway. Caitlyn told her mother that they are coming back to Lubbock for Easter. She could hardly stand that she could not hold Rylan!

Abby has done really good so far. She has sniffed around the cradle but we have not let her get too close to Rylan yet. This was her checking out what I was holding.

Going Home Today!

Rylan is going home with us today. What a perfect birthday present!

Jordon and I had to spend the night at the hospital with him last night. There are small rooms in the NICU area; there is a bed, a sink, a chair and not much room to move around. It was a long night. Rylan did great over night. Jordon and I did not get much sleep between getting settled in and feedings. It will take some getting used to before we get our routine down.

3-10-12

Today Rylan is 4lbs 9.9oz. It was bath day again. We are supposed to be able to give a tub bath but the hospital has new tubs ordered and they are still not in. Rylan is gaining weight each day and has grown so much. Rylan also no longer has a feeding tube so there is nothing on his face anymore! He took it out on his own last night so the nurses just left it out. He is taking each feeding from a bottle and has not needed to use the tube for several days.

Bath day means we get new sheets on our bed. Today we got cowboy boots! So cute!

Fat Boy...Well We Are Getting There :)

Rylan hit the 4 pound mark! He is now 4 lbs 5.6 oz as of today. He is gaining about 1oz or more each day at this point. You can tell his cheeks are getting chubbier.

He is also learning to eat from a bottle and doing a good job. He eats eight times a day and is now taking more than half of his feedings from a bottle. Sometimes he is just too tired to take the bottle so he still has the tube in his nose for lazy feedings.

This is immediately following his bath. Rylan's hair just poofs up. All the nurses think it is so cute but it drives Jordon crazy. He combs it every chance he gets.
