October update

The last few weeks have been a whirlwind of traveling between McLean and Comanche and back. I put up a few pictures from the bull sale a few days ago. It seems like we are out of town every weekend lately. Jordon was out of town for a few days and Grammy came to stay with us. I have more pictures so hopefully I will get around to downloading them from my phone soon.

 We took the entertainment center outside while Grammy and I worked in the flower beds and decorated the porch with pumpkins.

This past weekend Papa and Nikki came to Jacob's football game then to visit us for the afternoon. We did not make it to the game because it was too cold Saturday morning. They came to Lubbock for lunch then Holly and Nikki ran errands while everyone else hung out with us. Jacob and Caleb entertained Rylan.

Caleb got tired of me taking pictures so he tried to hide from me.

Catching up

We have been gone for the last couple of weeks so I have not had time to post. We were gone for over a week going from McLean to Comanche and of course I did not take my camera. I swiped some pictures from Grace from the 51st Dudley Brothers Bull Sale. I took a few with my phone too.

Start 'Em Young

We took Rylan to his first Tech football game on Saturday. It was the celebrate cotton game so my student organization was helping with some of the pregame activities so I had planned on going. Then everyone else (Cameron, Jonathan, and Trey) bailed on Jordon so he had no one to go with him. So we decided to make it a family outing!

 

I got out all of Rylan's TTU clothes that fit right now and tried to decide what he was going to wear. They are all so cute! I found the black hoodie with Raider Red on it and could not resist.

 

Most of these pictures are from our camera phones so they are not the best quality but they will have to do. This is us walking to the game from the car. We took the moby wrap (best invention ever for babies) so our arms did not wear out carrying Rylan.

 These are outside of the Frazier Alumni Pavilion as we were leaving the game. We stayed until halftime and decide it was time to go. Rylan did great and we did not want to chance it going bad. He actually slept in the moby wrap most of the time we were in the stadium.

This is the outfit we decided on for his first game. You could not see it much while we were at the game. Our friend Elizabeth had this made for Rylan and he can finally wear it.

The boys crashed hard after a long and fun weekend.

Lately...

I have been trying to get these videos and pictures posted for several days but it seems like I can never find the time to sit down and finish it. So there is not much detail to this post. The videos speak for themselves. Rylan is very active and loves all his toys. His newest thing is making noises with his mouth as you will see.

Rylan sleeps holding his ears or the side of his face. You can tell when he needs a nap or is ready for bed because he will hold his ears.

August 17

One year ago today our lives changed forever. I haven't told many people the whole story about how we officially found out we were going to have a baby. I don't normally write mushy blogs so bear with me.

Jordon had gone off to Oklahoma with Cameron for a few days. My mom had come to Lubbock to go to an Elvis concert with me on August 16, 2011. I had a doctors appointment the next day, August 17, 2011. It was a follow up to my yearly check up. I was not certain but thought I might be pregnant and I knew the doctor's office would make me take a test. My appointment was first thing that morning and then I went to work. I had to sit through the whole day knowing and not having anyone to tell because I wanted to tell Jordon in person. The doctor insisted that I take the test strip with me that showed I was pregnant. Kind of gross but I did not know what to do with it so I had that in my purse all day too.

After work I went and bought a TTU baby outfit and wrapped it up for Jordon to open when he got home. Of course they did not get home until about 8pm that night. I kept calling all afternoon seeing where they were and we all know how slow Cameron drives. They kept stopping to site see and chase Quanah Parker. I thought I was going to burst!!!

When Jordon came in I gave him the present. I put a card in it with the pregnancy test strip. His knees buckled and I thought he was going to faint. He did not but came close.

We got to  have the first sonogram on September 2, 2011 and hear the heartbeat. A couple of weeks later we told our families the news.

Happy Half Birthday Rylan!

It is hard to believe that Rylan is six months old now! He has grown and changed so much is such a short amount of time. We never could have imagined how active and what a personality he has now.

Rylan like to lay in the floor and just kick his legs. I try to get video of him rolling over but every time I get the camera or my phone out he stops. 

This is one of Rylan's preemie outfits that he wore in NICU; and it was big on him at first. Now we have the same one in a 6 month size.

Today we went out in the backyard with Jordon while he gave Abby a bath. Rylan wore his sunglasses the whole time we were outside.
